The Pillar of Fire Church is an Evangelical Protestant Denomination with roots in the Wesleyan-Episcopal tradition. In 1901 the Pillar of Fire Society was founded as an educational, benevolent and charitable organization. It was soon realized, however, that the missionary endeavours of such a society would become more effective if it was part of an organized denomination, which shared a common ecclesiastical leadership, Christian discipline and spiritual interests. This led to the foundation of the Pillar of Fire Church.

The Pillar of Fire Mission started its activities in India by partnering with Azariah Korabandi, an evangelist from Khammam, Andhra Pradesh, India.

Azariah is the director of missions for the Pillar of Fire in India, especially in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Azariah was called to be a Christian evangelist in his youth. His mother, being a devout Christian, dedicated him to be a servant of Christ at his birth. So he was carrying on in many fields of Christian endeavor long before the organizatin's missons were established.

In accordance with God's calling the Mission of our ministry is to help people to know God's love revealed through the cross and the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ and to try to demonstrate that love by endeavouring to meet the spiritual and physical needs of the people amongst whom we live and serve in obedience to God's will and His guidance.
